Welcome back to Appliance Champion’s blog! Today, we are continuing to discuss what could be wrong with your washer if it’s making odd noises. Though it is absolutely natural for your washer to make noise, there are some noises that can tell you that your washer needs a repair or maintenance. My Washer is Making Weird Noises

Gurgling Noises

If your washer is making gurgling noises, then you may have a clog in your washer drain line. Items such as socks, lint, hair, and other items can make their way into the drain line and cause complete or partial clogs. Though initially a clog may not cause problems, if the clog is allowed to get worse, you may have a water leak on your hands which can cause exponential problems including an annoying mess, water damage to your floor and wall, as well as give mold an opportunity to start calling your house its home.

Rumbling Noise

If your washer seems to be rumbling and vibrating more than normal, then you may need to stop the load and rearrange the items in your washer; items that are clumped together can cause your washer to become off balance and rumble. If you have bulky items such as blankets or towels or those that tend to tangle up together, you may have to rearrange the items a few times throughout the wash cycle. However, if the rumbling continues, then you may need to investigate. A rumbling washer can mean that your washers feet aren’t secured to the floor, the jam nuts are loose, or your floor is sagging. Tighten the jam nuts, secure your washer’s feet and legs, and make sure your washer is level. If it isn’t level, then you can use plywood under the feet that need raised to level your machine.
